I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
